My paper planes.

 These are my three  paper planes. The 1st  one is called the Traditional paper plane the 2nd one is called the Ring glider and the last one is called the Hoop glider. The Traditional paper plane flew the best. My friend Eshnika helped me record it. The 1st one is yellow, the 2nd one is red and the last one was purple. The red one flew better than the purple one.

My Flower Colouring

This is my Flower colouring and we did this on Summer learning journey. I did flowers in vase. It is a good activity to do in the school holidays. There are other activities that you can do on Summer Learning Journey.                               

The seven sisters

 There are many legends about the star cluster Matariki. One of the most popular is that the star Matariki is the Whaea mother, and surrounded with  more daughters. These are the 9 different stars of Matariki.

They come out on May-June. It rises between 5:30am- 6:30am. It comes in mid-winter.

Parrots

Parrots are found in warm climates all over most of the world. 

Parrots eat nut,flowers,fruit,buds,seeds and insects.

Parrots have a compact body with a large head and a short neck.

                                              

Long tailed bats

The long tailed bats are the only land mammals in NZ there is only two. The Maori name for Long-tailed bats is Pekapeka.

 The long tailed bats is the size of your thumb, they go up to 5-6 centermeters, from there nose to there tail, and there wings is nearly 30 centermeters long.

 Long tailed bats live in native forests all around New Zealand.

 Long tailed bats have chocolate brown fur, short ears and a long tail completely enclosed.

Southern brown Kiwi

The Southern brown kiwi lives in The south island and Stewart island. On the mainland they live in Fiordland and West land.

 Southern kiwis eat, earth worms and larvae beetles, cicadas and moths. Here is a picture of the Southern brown Kiwi. 

My Creature

This is my creature  that I made up and it is called the Ghostspiderfly. It is mixed with a ghost, a spider and a butterfly. The body is the ghost, the wings are the butterfly and the webs are the spider. This is for 'The Black Hat'.

Room 4 have been doing prototec and basic facts I am have done my fives,tens,and two and I am on my nines. My nins have heaps of patterns by using my fingers. I am trying to beat my time on my basic facts and prototec. My nines are really hard but they are fun. I am trying to beat my time bet I can’t. Sometimes I beat the time that I did the last time but sometimes I don’t. I am trying to beat 3 minutes. 

Music with Fran

 Room 4 have been doing music with Fran, we have been playing the violin. We Are learning the pizzicato note. Fran is teaching us. Fran has a friend and her name is Mary she is cool. We have played some other instruments as well. Were learning the A,D,E and F sharp we practice with our fingers first and then we do it with our bow its quite hard. Today we looked at the ukulele, guitar and the violin and they look all different. The different is the pin point on the ukulele and that the violin has a bridge on it but the guitar and the ukulele doesn’t. It was so much fun.Then we all put our violins away and we left Then Room 3 came in. 

Shopping list, chapter chat

 

 This is me and Eshnika's shopping list for Ade. This is one of the activities for the boy in the tower. There are seventeen things on there and really yummy stuff! It has healthy stuff and unhealthy stuff.

Chapter chat lantern making.

 

For our chapter chat activities there was a activities of making a lantern. So I made one and this id what it looks like. It looks like a handbag. It looks cool!!! Te A, Mihi and Shilo made one two their one looks very cool too! The book we are reading is the boy in the tower.

Room 3 with Whaea Kelsi

 On Wednesday and Thursday the year fives went into Room 3 because the Year sixes were going to camp. Whaea kelsi was in Room 3 with the Year fives we joined Room 3  too. So it was just the Year fives, It was great. 

On Wednesday the year fives did some marble art it was so much fun. What we did was we got a tray, marbles, piece of paper, paint and news paper. So we put the news paper in the tray and put the paper on the news paper next we  put three different coloured paints on the paper.  Then we put the marble in the tray and rolled the tray around, it was fun. It made lines with the marble. We made two of the art, everybody’s had heads of different colours. They looked really cool!!!  Then we let them dry.

On thursday when we got to school I had a look at the marble art and they had all dried but some of them were still wet. After that we started doing the art again, by cutting them out. So we had to get one of our pictures and put it on a big black piece of  paper. With the other piece of paper we write our name in big letters. Then we out lined our name and cut our piece of paper with the art work. It took a while to cut out but every body finished some people did the same colours as people.

                                            We have been doing a lot of bike riding in lockdown.

                                               We go to the splash but i'm scared of the magpies.

  Me and my dad made a chair. It was really hard to make there were a lot of screws. It was for mum       
             because we got it for mothers day in may. We finally made it.
